another small bag... un altro sacchettino

ooops! another long gap since my last post. A shame work has a tendency to get in the way of one's hobbies! :D

Do you remember the lovely design by The Little Stitcher I started some time ago? well, it's finished and it's another small pouch. When I finish a project I always end up with some minuscule scraps of fabric, which I don't like to throw away. Well, I will store some here now! They may become useful at another time.

The little alphabet in the background is the beginning of a new design I have been working on for a while. A quick stitch actually, but lack of time does not help. Will show more when it's finished.

ooops! ho lasciato di nuovo passare tanto tempo dal mio ultimo post. Un vero peccato che il lavoro alle volte finisca per tenerci lontane dai nostri hobby! : D
Vi ricordate il bel disegno di The Little Stitcher che avevo  iniziato qualche tempo fa? bene, è finito ed è diventato un altro sacchettino. Quando finisco un progetto, mi avanzano sempre dei microscopici pezzetti di stoffa che non mi va di buttare. Bene, adesso ne potrò conservare qualcuno qui dentro! Prima o poi torneranno utili anche loro!
Il piccolo alfabeto sullo sfondo della foto è l'inizio di un nuovo progetto su cui lavoro da un po'. Sarebbe un ricamo veloce in realtà, ma la mancanza di tempo non aiuta. Gli farò una bella foto quando sarà finito.

And what about this fantastic - and useful! - bookmark? It arrived in the mail from Vickie. She won my giveway and has been so kind as to stitch this for me. Aren't stitchers the most wonderful people?

Chalet sampler

As a child I often spent the last part of the summer holidays on the mountains. I still love walking in the woods: the earthy smell, the rusty color of fallen leaves, the fresh air and the clear beams of light through the trees... And then, almost as a surprise, here are those large green summer meadows, the small dark huts, the bright sun. I will always be in awe of natural beauties!

I tried to capture these feelings in a small sampler, which I finished as a project bag. It is stitched on a scrap of 28 or 30ct natural linen, DMC threads. 

Da bambina passavo spesso l'ultima parte delle vacanze estive in montagna. Amo ancora passeggiare nei boschi: l'odore di terra, il color ruggine delle foglie cadute, l'aria fresca e quelle lame di luce che filtrano attraverso gli alberi ... E poi, quasi a sorpresa, ecco i grandi prati, le piccole capanne scure, il sole brillante e caldo. Non smetterò mai di meravigliarmi della bellezza della natura!
Ho cercato di catturare queste sensazioni in un piccolo sampler, che ho finito come una busta porta-lavoro. E' ricamato su un pezzo di lino naturale,  28 o 30ct, filati DMC.
