Thought I would post an update on my stitching as my bug has been very active lately!
Let's start with a design I have been working on for a while. A LHN design of course, on a stitiching theme. Not sure how I will finish it but we'll see!
Ho pensato di postare un aggiornamento sugli ultimi ricami, visto che ultimamente il mio turbo-ago si è dato un gran da fare. Un LHN ovviamente, su un bel tema ricamoso. Non so ancora cosa diventerà ma vedremo!
A very sweet design by The Victoria Sampler: I won't probably ever use it for oregano, but might eventually fill it with some lavender. It was a kit and a perfect one actually, all top quality.
Un disegno dolcissimo di The Victoria Sampler: probabilmente non lo userò mai per l'origano, ma forse finirò per metterci della lavanda. Era un kit, e devo dire un kit perfetto: tutto di qualità eccellente.

, which are Belle Soie silks. Gorgeous threads, simply gorgeous. I adore them, a real treat.
Un altro progetto appena iniziato, ed un altro LHN, chiamato Summer Sampler. Lo schema includeva i filati, che sono delle sete Belle Soie. Splendide, semplicemente splendide. Le adoro, sono una vera chicca.
Last but not least, I thought it was time to update the top banner of this blog. I stitched the Heart Sampler by Lizzie Kate many years ago and still think it entirely describes me. My Grandpa used to tease me,
saying that children's hand should not be idle but that too much activity would also get them into trouble. He was right: my hands did meet with a number of "unfriendly"
objects over the years, including the teeth of a couple of dogs that did not seem to appreciate my over-enthusiastic approaches (and they had every reason to!!) and several kitchen tools clearly meant to be used by adults...
The chart to the left is my beloved Bluebird by SubRosa, while the flowers on the right are random attempts at traditional embroidery.

Ultimo ma non meno importante, era tempo di aggiornare un po' il banner di questo blog. Avevo ricamato lo schema Heart Sampler di Lizzie Kate tanti anni fa e continuo a pensare che mi descriva alla perfezione. Mio nonno mi prendeva sempre in giro dicendo che le mani dei bambini non devono stare ferme, ma neanche muoversi troppo altrimenti finiscono per farsi male... E aveva ragione: negli anni le mie mani hanno incontrato un sacco di oggetti non proprio amichevoli, compresi i denti di un paio di cani che non hanno apprezzato i miei approcci troppo entusiastici (e come dar loro torto!) e parecchi utensili da cucina, chiaramente fatti per essere usati da un adulto...
Lo schema sulla sinistra è il mio amato Bluebird di SubRosa, mentre i fiori sulla destra sono prove di ricamo tradizionale.
